Reckon I’ll get another 800 miles out of this?

The cords are showing, but the ferry’s booked and there’s plenty of tread on the sides.

Reckon I’ll get another 800 miles out of this?

Setting off tomorrow. Mostly motorway to the ferry, then a few days on the TET. Fully loaded but I’ve left the camping chair at home.

Looks worse in the photo. Only noticed the little threads this morning and they might have been there ages.

Still plenty of tread on the sides. Seems wasteful replacing the entire tyre because of one strip in the middle.

Local place can fit one today but it’s £170. Found the same tyre online for £112, delivery five to seven working days. Can’t really justify being ripped off just because they physically have it.

Please only comment if you’ve actually ridden 800 miles on a tyre exactly like this. Not interested in speculation.

It’s done 9,200 already without any issues, so I’d say it’s proved itself.

EDIT: Yes, the ferry is refundable. That’s not the point. I’ve packed.

EDIT 2: Everyone saying “change it”, I am changing it. I’m asking whether I can do the holiday first.

EDIT 3: Forty-three replies and nobody’s given me the answer I’m looking for. Thought this was an adventure group.
