Six weeks of practice. Someone else’s 1290.

Her teal kit matches the little bike. His orange kit matches the big one. Please stop asking about that.

Six weeks ago I was nervous doing a U-turn and now I’m riding my 1290 through stuff like this 😍

Had a couple of practice sessions in a car park and something just clicked. Honestly think people overcomplicate big bikes. Once you stop worrying about the weight you barely notice it.

My boyfriend has been riding for years and even he couldn’t believe what he was seeing.

Would anyone be interested in some videos about building confidence on a bigger bike? I’ve already put a few on my Instagram, link in bio. Give me a follow and comment CONFIDENCE on the latest reel and I’ll send you the others.

Not an instructor or anything, just think it helps seeing someone normal doing it rather than the same old blokes telling everyone they need more training.

This section was properly technical. Doesn’t look much in the photos but some of those steps were huge. Had to stop a few times to get my breath back and check the pictures.

Quite pleased with how relaxed I look on the bike now. Used to be so tense even sitting on one.

For those asking about my kit, I’ve tagged everything on Instagram. The teal looks AMAZING in the mountains. Discount code should be working by tonight so hold off ordering until then please.

We didn’t get any riding footage unfortunately. My boyfriend said he was too busy, which is annoying because he had plenty of time to stand in the background of all my photos.

Might go back and film it another day. Depends whether he’ll bring the bike again.

EDIT: Bring it in the van. Obviously I ride it.

The little bike is also ours. Not sure why everyone’s so interested in that when this post is about the 1290.

Yes, my helmet matches it. I bought the helmet because I liked the colour. His kit is orange because he likes orange. You lot need a hobby.

Someone’s asked why the keys are clipped to his jacket. Because my trousers haven’t got pockets.

Anyway if you want to follow the rest of the trip it’ll all be on my stories. Please put questions there as I don’t always check this group unless I’ve posted something.

EDIT: He’s asked me to clarify that I haven’t ridden the rocky bit yet. I meant this sort of terrain generally. We’ve ridden past loads of it.

Comments turned off. Was only trying to inspire people.
