It’s October, not January. Why is there snow?
He checked the forecast. Rome was 24 degrees. Didn’t think he needed to check every individual bit of Italy.

Anyone else in the Italian Alps finding the weather completely different to what was advertised?
It’s October, not January, and there’s actual snow on the trail. Started as rain, which was disappointing enough, then got ideas above its station.
Packed mesh jacket, summer gloves and waterproof overtrousers. Left the waterproof jacket at home because we were heading south.
Before anyone asks, yes, I checked the forecast. Rome was 24 degrees. Didn’t think I needed to check every individual bit of Italy.
Bike says 2°C, but I’m assuming that’s wind chill because the hotel was much warmer.
Passed three ski lifts on the way up. Thought they were just there for winter.
Does anyone nearby have a spare fleece? Ideally something that packs small, as both panniers are full. One’s mostly clothes for eating outside.
Heated grips are on maximum. Palms are lovely. Unfortunately the rest of me wasn’t included in the winter pack.
Please don’t suggest going down. We spent all morning getting up here and I don’t like wasting progress.
EDIT: The snow in the promotional photos was on the mountains. We’re on the road. I considered those separate things.
EDIT 2: Yes, I know what “Alpine” means. It’s written on my summer gloves.
EDIT 3: Back at the hotel. Bought a fleece in reception for €85. Apparently the little shop I thought was selling souvenirs was selling preparation.
