The Spanish trail has turned into a staircase.
He doesn’t speak Spanish, but he took “no, no, no” to mean there were no tolls.

Anyone done this bit of the Spanish TET on a big bike?
Track’s gradually turned into a staircase and I’d like to know when it turns back. Ideally before the bit in the photo.
Spoke to a local at the bottom. Don’t speak Spanish, but he pointed at the bike, shook his head and crossed his arms. Assumed he was saying it was an impressive machine.
He then said “no, no, no”, which I took to mean there were no tolls.
Two lads on little enduro bikes came down wearing knee braces and no luggage. Asked if it was doable and one said “for us, yes”. Found that reassuring at the time.
Bike’s about 320kg with everything on it. Plenty of power, so I’m assuming this is mainly a question of selecting the correct mode.
Please don’t suggest taking the luggage off and walking it up. I walked twenty metres to inspect the first step and had to sit on a rock.
Also, how do you say “could you ride my motorcycle up there while I watch” in Spanish without making it sound like I can’t ride?
Need to be over this hill by six. Booked a lovely hotel on the other side because it looked very close on the map.
EDIT: I know the photo makes it look flat. That’s why I took it from this angle. Wife follows the group.
EDIT 2: Someone’s translated what the local said. Apparently the repeated pointing back towards the village was an important part of the advice.
EDIT 3: Turning round. Can anyone recommend a Spanish phrase for “yes, it’s me again” that doesn’t invite further discussion?
